The Association for Asian Studies is pleased to open the Call for Proposals for the AAS 2027 Annual Conference to be held March 18-21, 2027, in Boston, MA.

This portal will collect proposal submissions from Wednesday, June 24, through Wednesday, August 5, 2026, 5:00 pm Eastern Time (ET). Proposals submitted outside of this portal or emailed directly to the AAS are ineligible and will not be considered for the 2027 AAS Annual Conference Program.

You may log in to this portal at any time before the deadline to submit, edit/update, or withdraw a proposal.  Only the original submitter has access to the proposal; however, original submitters may add a collaborator to assist with entering details.

PLEASE NOTE: Proposals remaining incomplete after the deadline date will be locked and will not be reviewed by the committee.

• Lightning Sessions
• Authors-Meets-Critics
• Pre-Conference Workshops

Individual Presentations:

• Individual Paper*
• Poster Presentation*

*All accepted Individual Papers and Poster Presentations will be grouped into a session (organized by the program committee) consisting of other accepted individual papers or posters.
